new house files | little main floor bath

This is a case of the 'I've loved it forever but never had a place for it but I do now so thank goodness I remembered it'

That ever happen to you? File things away in the back of your mind and then forget you love them? I've been stuck with our little main floor bath for what to hang. It has a captains mirror above the sink and this pendant light..

It's a simple almost masculine space. Which is cool, but I couldn't think of what I wanted in there. AND THEN TODAY I remembered this-

I love the rustic frame, great colors.. it's perfect for this little room! It was so great too that I was able to support a fabulous shop in Red Deer ( where I grew up ) Hudson Madison, instead of ordering it online, and they're shipping it down to me :) Amazing shop, amazing service. well it is Friday | mojitos

We have a super fun weekly tradition with friends.. during the week we get together and have dinner + drinks. We think up silly rhyming phrases ( wing + wine wednesday etc ;) ) and it's a total blast :) This past Wednesday we had a mexican theme and made mojito's for the first time ever. Oh my word were they good.. thought I'd share the recipe incase any of you are up to trying one this weekend! xx

Mojito's

In an 8- to 10-ounce glass, combine 20 rinsed fresh mint leaves (each about 1½ in. long) and 2 teaspoons superfine sugar.

With a wooden spoon, pound mint leaves with sugar to coarsely crush.

Add 4 to 5 tablespoons light rum, 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice; mix well.

Fill glass with ice cubes and 4 to 6 tablespoons chilled soda water.

Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.
